iPodLinux
Well I got bored today and installed iPodLinux on my ipod. This is the 2nd time I have tried; the first time I didnt do it right and messed up my ipod. This time it worked and I looked around a bit and see what it did. I must say that this is a boring thing to put on the ipod.
Rockbox is much better then this IMO.
Been busy
If you didnt know I have another domain at http://www.ultimateflcl.com and I let it die. But awhile ago I posted an announcement asking someone to design a new design for the site and I got one. So I have been working on coding the design and its finally done. The site is now alive and I'm not a bad webmaster anymore!
In other news, I have installed an OpenID plugin into this blog so now you can use your OpenID instead of having to register at yet another site.
Lastly, this server has a few unused IP addresses so I have transferred my account to a dedicated IP instead of the shared one. I then created and installed an SSL certificate for eliloewen.com. So if anyone wants to browse the site with an encrypted connection just go to https://www.eliloewen.com. You will most likely get an invalid certificate or connection error/warning with your browser but thats only because it is a free certificate from cacert.org. The only thing that it doesnt like is that I didnt buy it from one of those expensive SSL companies.
EXT4 fun
So today I updated the kernel on my desktop to 2.6.28 and with the update comes the stable EXT4. So I thought what the hell, it should be simple to do this migration from ext3 to ext4. It relatively was.
First I converted my /home and / filesystems to ext4. Then I had to boot into the arch live cd, update it, and fsck my partitions. There were a lot of errors that it found.. Anyways, I did that then I tried booting... what do I get? Cannot mount root partition ---- KERNEL PANIC!!! So i tried to mount it from the live cd but the kernel on there didnt support ext4 so couldnt do that.. then I tried booting into the fallback kernel, and that worked! So after some messing around, I rebuilt the kernel and that seemed to do the trick. All works and I'm running EXT4. But I'm still waiting to try BTRFS.. Maybe there will be a dev version in 2.6.29.
Accepted into WWU
I just got a pack of papers in the mail today from Western Washington University and they have accepted me! 
Although I knew I would be accepted there because I exceed almost all of their recommend requirements but Its good to know I can go there.
Might be getting a VPS!
So a friend of mine from the Internets came to me the other day and said he was able to get me my own VPS free of change. BTW: VPS=Virtual Private Server. So I was like "OMG YES!" and he was like "okays". It was nice 
. So when he gets his VPS node hopefully I can get my own VPS.
Hopefully there are good times ahead.

College apps: still in progress
So OSU is completely done now. Whats left are the counselor's stuff for NU along with the e-letter of recommendation from a teacher and I have to make sure my transcript was sent to WWU.
Oh, I also have to help my counselor convert his writing portions to PDF since he doesnt know how....which reminds me...I need to show him how
