DB Problems
For some reason Jewlzk moved all their servers to somewhere else without notifying any of their clients. So during the unexpected move, all my DBs were deleted. Lucky, I have daily/weekly full backups of my site, so all is restored now.

I dont think its appropriate for a hosting company to do such stuff without informing their customers. Lucky for you you already had a back up of your database.
Why would the data bases be deleted when servers are moved?

Nam, the databases usually are not deleted, just the ‘name’ for the databases, this is done for security purposes, as the name of these databases contain passwords; which are encrypted. – So the server, cannot decrypt them, although they are already, however this is to prevent databases being ripped away from abusers.

The separate issue of Jewlzk moving DC is an isolated position which put myself in the dark, however you are right, it’s very much inappropriate to not inform people who pay for their services that they are moving DC. – It causes a lot of stress and if anything will put a bad stain on Jelwzk’ reputation. The databases were moved over however there must have been ‘data corruption’ when we moved DC, or specifically Jelwzkz. Luckily we had a data backup server, which from where we could restore backups!
