I have just found out that the contact form that was on my contact page was not working and not sending emails to me. If you have EVER used the form and I have not replied to the email then I am very very sorry and if you can, then please resend me the message via my email (on the contact page). I have promptly removed the form from the page, so the only and best way to contact me is my email.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, and hopefully this wont happen again. And hopefully I can figure out the issue.

A few months ago I decided I wanted to run for Senior President for my school. And guess what. I did!! I ran a good campaign and in the end it all payed off. When all the ballets were submitted, I came out on top. So far on top that I had 100% of the votes for my position. This is because I was running unopposed. It was quite disappointing that this wasn’t a challenge, but theres nothing I could have done about that.

So now I have two positions at my school, Webmaster and Senior President. I wonder how many more I can get

Hello,
My name is Eli Loewen, and I’m running for Senior Class President. I’ve been given the opportunity to say a few words about what I believe in and what my vision is for this school. My vision is very simple: I believe that as a high school in our community we should be leaders in the community. I believe that we have a responsibility as students, and as human beings, to evaluate what we’re doing as a society and to try to improve on it. We have the power to make a change in the world, if we can only direct our efforts towards a common goal, and as a school we have a lot to offer. We have talent, motivation, and intelligence, and if we take those things and apply them towards a purpose, then we can effect a change. Whatever else high school may mean, whatever things that we are being prepared for, one thing is certain: when we leave here we will be entering a broken world, a world that we will be expected to fix. What will we do now to make this job easier on ourselves in the future? We at A&T have the ability to begin to make a difference right now. And as senior president I will make that difference. Thank you.

Since my reinstall of Ubuntu (to upgrade to Hardy) my computer has been empty. But the other day I wanted to go nuts and i went into the Ubuntu repos and started installing! I installed a bunch of media applications and as I was going through them Miro caught my attention.

Miro is an internet TV program that is just fantastic. Firstly, the program is open source and I love open source. It is also very feature rich! There is so much it has and does that I really don’t want to explain it all. But I will say that Miro has my highest seal of approval!

I’m always bored of the same thing and having to wait for new releases to get new features. So now I have removed all the blogs files and replaced them with the subversion (SVN) files. What SVN is is its a way to get the latest versions of files. So a lot of you may know that wordpress 2.5 is out. Because I am using the latest SVN, this blog is using a development version which is 2.6-bleeding. So I every so often have to “cd” into this directory and “svn up” in SSH so all the files the blog is using are at the latest version

I’m bored so I guess I will just say I am in the National Honor Society. I got accepted and I’m a member. I got a certificate

I have finished coding the design, and I hope everyone likes it.

I have added new websites to the portfolio and added other content to various pages. I have also updated the blog.

I have had a few comments from people about the orange and colours, so I’m going to create another blue design and let you guys be able choose which one you want to see, using some fun PHP.

I’m in the process of coding a new website design for EliLoewen.com. Its a new year so I thought there should be some change. The layout was designed by my brother because I have no style and I’m not good with colours. But this design is very “Web 2.0″ in my opinion.

Hopefully it will be released within the week.

1/16/08 - Edit: I have finished coding the website, now i need to clean up the stylesheet and then update this blog, then see if im able to integrate the blog with the new design.

It took a while but Hulu.com finally invited me to join. Its a great site. Their videos are fantastic quality and theres a lot of shows on there from a lot of different channels. Thumbs up for Hulu
